№ 507: Lombardi Economics & Theology 101

Christianity and Capitalism start with “C”
this is almost their sole commonality.
Jesus said he fished for men's souls.
Adam Smith pursued mundane immediate goals.
Christians, above all, wish to be “saved”,
Capitalists to take their loot to the grave.

Truth to tell, neither behave well
when heir followers following natural selection
in ruthless pursuit of purported perfection
taking, of course, a course they have faith works,
abandoning morals as quirks fit for jerks.
Both, in praise of their founder, sing
and neither confess winning's their thing.
