USA Today: Rep. Chris Collins says he's innocent on insider trading charges and will run in November

Federal prosecutors have charged Collins, one of President Trump's earliest congressional supporters, with insider trading on Wednesday, accusing the congressman and his son of using inside information about a biotechnology company to make illicit stock trades.

Rep. Collins is also charged with making false statements to the FBI.

What's wrong with insider trading?

Why is it breaking the law?

If you're well-off and connected. . . 
that is what friends are for!

How is this bad? It is so sad

that you're punished for having pals.

Next thing you know, so long status quo,

they'll be banning goosing the gals.

It's getting so the best men you know

are probably going jail.

In the short run it is much less fun

being born rich, white and male.

While displaying a flair somewhat ungrammatic,
his preferences lean t'ward autocratic.

His heir and his hair so “aromatic”.

I would for a change something anti-climatic.

Did the founders foresee

it would be traumatic 
being led by a man 
with bats in his belfry
who in an unkinder time —
to be emphatic! —
would likely be
confined in an attic?
And yet, there are those
who he makes ecstatic.
So, I suppose,
this is democratic
and demonstrates with great clarity
precisely what's wrong with democracy.

US media. . .reported that the US president had been involved in the initial statement his son issued on the meeting.

This was initially denied by Mr Trump's team, but his lawyers later confirmed that he had in fact dictated his son's statement.

That our first president owned felling that cherry tree. . .

well, there never was any proof.

Interesting now with two centuries gone by

the latest's a stranger to truth.
