896: A Meander

A COUNTRY ROAD. A TREE. (July 8) —
Rand Paul is an ophthalmologist,
as is Bashar al-Assad.
(Are all ophthalmologists odd?)
On economics, Rand’s an apologist,
defending his namesake Libertarian goddess,
who had, of course, been inspired by Darwin,
who discovered we are not divinely created
and are, as a life-form, much overrated,
if just by ourselves.
That, however, does not matter.
We don't care about anything else
because
evolution is mean,
a grand Ponzi scheme.
It’s musical chairs.
It’s tripping down stairs.
Many pretend
their lives do not end,
that there’s life after death.
Heaven forfend.
